Mo2Ma refers to the artists collective that conjugate together photography, painting and music. Through this process they allow the spectator to enter the artwork, static by nature, through the activation of more sensorial levels in an internal dynamism. In fact, the synaesthetic research doesn’t address music itself but the sound evoked by the image. Equally the viewer’s engagement with the opera makes him active and principal actor in the activation and appreciation of the work as it is him who controls the contrast between the image’s fixture and its internal dynamism. The viewer decides if and when to act and activate the artwork in a continuous dialogue between himself and the work. Unlike traditional installations, the viewer is not merely a passive presence but he himself becomes part of the opera.

The black and white photograph is refined by color, which mutates its attraction point towards a different directional center while sound turns into “ambient sounds” evoking the dynamism represented by the work’s visual elements. Maris’ photography together with Morfeo Titti’s painting skills transform the static object into a dynamic one and such dynamism is then translated into musical movement thanks to Curti’s re-elaborated sounds. The object becomes dynamic representation of a transfigured instant in which the dialogue between image and sound becomes an inseparable one.
